Honoring Phinley: A Heartfelt Gift from the Kiwanis Club of Niceville-Valparaiso
We are deeply grateful to the Kiwanis Club of Niceville-Valparaiso for their generous and compassionate support of the Bear Family Foundation Pediatric Oncology Center for Hope. In a beautiful tribute to Phinley, their heartfelt donation not only supports critical pediatric oncology care but also brings lasting comfort and joy to our young patients.
As part of their gift, the Kiwanis Club also donated Kiwanis Trauma Dolls to the Studer Family Children’s Hospital. These thoughtfully crafted dolls serve a very special purpose. They help children communicate their pain and discomfort to medical professionals in a way that is both clear and empowering. By simply pointing to areas on the doll, children can indicate where they hurt. This makes it easier for doctors to diagnose and treat them with greater precision and care.
The trauma dolls also provide more than just clinical support. Each one becomes a comforting companion during what can be a frightening and uncertain time in a child’s life. For our young patients, the dolls offer emotional support and reassurance. They are a tangible reminder that these children are not alone on their journey.
The impact of the Kiwanis Club’s donation was felt deeply, especially as we shared this meaningful moment with Phinley’s family. Their kindness in honoring Phinley’s memory brings a beacon of light to our hospital. Through their generosity, Phinley’s spirit continues to shine brightly in the halls of our Pediatric Oncology Center and beyond.
To the Kiwanis Club of Niceville-Valparaiso, thank you for your unwavering compassion. Your support uplifts not just our patients but our entire hospital community.
